Surplus Services has merged with Admin's Travel Management Division to become a new division, Fleet & Surplus Services Division.
Surplus Services is the state's redistribution center for state and federal surplus property. We redistribute good usable state and federal surplus property to eligible donees, which include state government, political subdivisions, non-profit health and educational activities, programs for low income, needy and homeless persons, and service educational organizations.
We also operate a "garage sale" and auction program (live and online) which serves the public. Approximately 90% of the auction proceeds are returned to the owner agency. Surplus Services provides sandbags and storage and handling services for state governments, and purchases GSA (federal) used vehicles and redistributes them to eligible donees.
The mission of Surplus Services is to assist our customers redistribute surplus public assets in a responsible fashion for the fiscal and environmental benefit of Minnesota.
